BusY

Busy. Am I busy?? Sometimes it’s no work for days. No physical stimulation, no intellectual activity. No office, no college assignments (I am desperate for them now), no nothing and the very next moment it is everything at the same time. That was what happened yesterday. They called me up “Come to office at 9:30”. How about sometime later I suggested. I need to be at another place at 11. No you come here first was the reply.

Walking to office first meant traveling the same road twice. A one hour 15 minutes walk for a ten minutes job. It is always only task when they call me. But once there is one thing or the adding up to my “Do it Now” list. I was glad for it though, that way I saw my walkathon being more respected. Diwas called, a pleasant surprise. He was online. Told me he’s bought a new laptop, Compaq. New pinch. Double dose of surprise.

I completed my work. On my way out I met the boss.

Sorry I gotta go I informed.

Hey, what happened to your foot? She pointed out.

I looked down. My right toe was bleeding.

I had no time to do anything about it. I took to my heels; it was 10:45 already.

I was in front of the BICC when a guy, checked shirt, long hair heading my direction caught my eye. Kamlesh I thought elated. But just as I was about to greet a genuinely overenthusiastic “Hi” to the Kamlesh look alike I realized I was mistaken. Maybe I was dreaming. So sad.

By the way where are you dude? I am beginning to miss your extra loud hoohoha hahaha (I can still hear you!) in the class, the quotes on the whiteboard, your hardly audible voice, the poems and the crazy walks in the midday sun. Oh…I miss you man.

Here’s a song for you I miss you like crazy, every minute of every single day heheheh (the little one loves this band).

What should I do this time, send another letter?

This time the envelope will be as thick as the Bible and Gita itself!

Ha ha ha ha.

Echo. Laughter has to be echoed. And it will echo itself every time you’ll unfold this paper. Am I a fool to believe that you will keep this forever?

The letter ‘I don’t want to give it a name. ‘Letter’ is too ugly a name for it, but again I can’t say it’s a Bible or a Gita, for it’s too thin- if compared. Ha ha ha.

Forever? Sure. No impulse is going to do away with it this time. Will read it out to Rahil someday!! Maybe…hahaha

Shantinagar gate. I increased my pace. My legs hurt and only then I caught the sight of my bleeding toes. Both of them this time, as though I were crucified.

Why does one wear shoes she can’t walk on, doesn’t that defy the purpose of shoes? http://spaces.msn.com/maggies-farm/PersonalSpace.aspx?beid=cns!96AAF4BA653AD8BA!287&d=1#postcns!96AAF4BA653AD8BA!287

I remembered Prabeshji’s question. Check this out (His writing reminds me of Kamlesh, the same style, and the same blatant questions, so similar that I couldn’t believe my eyes!) Haha. But the sports sandals of mine are fairly comfortable thereby my everyday “Paupos”. I had absolutely no idea why my “Big Toe” as my Yoga teacher would put it was bleeding. I couldn’t continue that way. So I stopped at the Stationery Shop.

“Bahini, handiplast cha?” I asked.

“Cha” she replied. I bought two.

But I didn’t use it immediately. I had to hurry.

I opened my bag to read refer to the map I had made as directed by the YI guy.

The paper slipped off my hand. Two guys passed by me.

‘Ani Jane hoina ta?’ one asked.

“ Hajur?” I expressed surprise.

“ YI?” he said.

What relief! We three headed for YI together.

The brainstorming session began.

What happened there can be best summed up by this press release:

Nepal is going through a transitional phase. And we all know that sooner or later it is going to end. The SPA along with the Maoists has called for a strike to pressurize the government. We are currently on the 14th day of the strike. People are out on the streets vandalizing public property, throwing stones and burning tires. But there is another mass that neither belongs to any political party nor believes in the destructive way of protesting. They are not out on the streets but they do care. They seek for a change but have no body to associate themselves with. To voice the thoughts of that critical mass of people we came together to form NAYSA.

On April 19, 2006 a group of youths and students concerned about the turn of events taking place in the nation have come together to form an alliance of youths and students. We have come together to work for our freedom in the widest sense of the word. We have named this alliance the Non-Aligned Youth and Students Alliance (NAYSA). We would also like to call upon all young people and students looking for a forum to work together for voicing our concerns vis-à-vis what changes we want in this country.

We came up with really cool slogans.

Atti bho! Aba Freedom hamro
Naya Nepal, New System, New Leaders
Ma aandolit chu……I’m not the only one

We’ll soon be out on the streets clad in the ‘ Ma andolin chu..” t-shirt. The government announced an 18-hour curfew yesterday. From 2 AM yesterday night till 8 PM today. No curfew passes have been allowed to anyone (human rights monitor, journos. No one. Though I am wondering how the news anchors and RJs reached the FM stations) The SPA had called for a huge protest rally one person from each house. I received an SMS to be in the rally, which read:

Nepali ragat bagekocha mutuma yedi bhane swatantra Nepalko nirman garna 7 gate sadakma utriau!! Loktantra jindabad..!!

(If Nepalese blood flows in your heart (does blood differ with nation?) be there out on the street on the 7th of Baisakh i.e. today. Hail Democracy!)

We guys (NASYA) decided it would be best to stay back home and join the protest taken out from our area itself. I was planning to go. It’s a curfew. Still the SPA have called people to be at Koteshwor Chowk at 12 It’s the nearest to my place.

Should I go? Should I not? I am confused. Help me out!!

Four people were killed in a demonstration in Jhapa yesterday. The police or army (there’s a debate) fired more than 100 rounds of bullet. Two people died on the spot, the army has taken their bodies. Some 150 have been injured. Nepal FM reported that it was the army that shot and even injured a SP and a police as they refused to obey the “shoot” command. Later when I tuned into HBC the news anchor reported that the army strongly denies the allegation. It was the police’s doing they say. An investigation will be carried out according to the army sources. The security personnel have crossed all bounds. I don’t know what more to say. It is appalling.

Getting back to NASYA. We have formed five different groups to facilitate our activities: Logistics/Celebrities, Fundraising, Communication and Networking, Research and Demonstration. I am in charge of the research group. Observe and analyze that’s our job for now. We are planning something. But I will reveal that only when it is accomplished.

Amazing to have landed in NASYA. I go for blood donation; I am denied the opportunity. And another door opens. I seek for action. That’s what I get. Isn’t it amazing how we always get what we seek? The power of thoughts. Khaptad Swami’s “ Bichar Bigyan” has never failed me. Never. Not once since I read the book back in school. Thank you for suggesting the book to me Dutta Sir. So dream guys, dream like crazy. I tell you “You Always Get What You Want”. Only the thoughts should be powerful and passionate. Yeah man. Dream big. Dream On. The world is your oyster.

N guys, if there is anything you want know more about, or want me to write on: the ongoing crisis, youth participation anything please do tell me. You can mail me at zadester@gmail.com. Anything that will appeal to a larger audience like the UWB one. I am having a dearth of ideas. I have been working on some articles but each moment is different here. So when I finish one I find the ideas to be stale already. I am expecting loads of emails!!

N your interest in the happenings here genuinely surprise me Ei nimeä. You are one good fren we have. Hysh told me you are a really sweet person, about the chat and all. Stay happy. Keep the comments rolling..
