I asked a friend of mine to write what Development Studies (BDevs) means to her.
Her reply: Don’t ask. It means so much that I get emotional. I might even cry!
Her words and my exact sentiments
BDevs. I joined the course amidst total mental chaos. The KU entrance collided with BDevs test. So called the college to say I wouldn’t be able to make it the first time. Mishra Sir was on the phone and he asked: So tell me, what if you make it through the entrance and get a seat to study Biotechnology and BDevs both? What will you chose?
Answering the question was the toughest thing I ever did.
I took my time, he repeated the question. “BDevs” I said surprising myself.
I was admitted to the college one day before my name appeared in the Biotech results.
Biotech was a dream. So BDevs was the demise of a dream. A day made all the difference. Could have gone back to pursue it but I had a ready lost hope then. And the results felt something like an old flame saying “Can’t stop loving you”! I chose to move on.
And who knew, the Very Best of Life was waiting for me.

Dear Daz
Finally you posted an article in why Bdev rocks. Asti dekhi parkhada parkhadai balla. I totally agree with what you have said before. I mean studying is not about just getting certificates and saying that “hey, see, I am a graduate. I have got a certificate”. It is about you growing as a person and seeing yourself transforming into a a fine human being. As daz has also said, Development studies has transformed me from a pampered child to a smart ass. This may sound like “mapai” gareko tara it is true hai daz. It is self realisation and self realisation feels totally incredible. You get to know about so many issues that are related to you that you start thinking about your life and others’ lives and start making the most of the things that lie in front of you.
And Btw daz has bit exaggerated about me. I have become one of the smart asses
but I sill need to be smarter. I need to be as smart as daz or even more.hehehe after all she is also one helluva inspirations in our class.
Actually why bdevs rox bhanee kura ma ta we can keep writing. Tyo ta lekhera nai bhyau daina. Isn’t it true daz? Because it is absolutely cool and I think everyone should do development studies once in your life to have closer look at what life really is and to realise who you really are.
Maile bhanekai thiye ni lekhe pachhi lekhya lekhyai hunchha.
daz field trip ma babaal masti garnu parchha hai. Can’t wait to go. Aba packing thali halchhun
See ya

i dont think any one can sleep going through such a nice description of what Bdevs is actually all about. so well u described it and the way u have described entrance in national college is simply mindblowing yar. ani i think the day u joined this college and the same day i saw u is something that i dont want to remember. i dint knew that u r darshan karki who is always with her own opinion about things and people. who sometimes acts so funny and regards herself as good listener, and yea she is. any way in real Bdevs rocks and hope ll the readers are now aware with the fact that it is a unique course which shapes us to accept every possible challenge being a development practisionar

Does it? Good. So, what? Oh Shit! what a rude opinion. Anyway, one good thing about liking own’s subjects is…..nothing. It’s good to study, good to learn and hopefully good to contribute something back in society. It’s very appalling most of the people seeing grass of another side very green but at least you are seeing ur grass on ur field evergreen. Superb. All the subjects have their own value and own rocking standard and I understand u are not saying that urs is better than anything rest…….yes! in my opinions all the subjects are equally important and one good thing i can see in subjects of arts and social sciences is they have interlinked disciplinary approach…..made any sense?
