like the symbolisms in the first pic – old man with flag (demanding for something he might not see in his lifetime!), disinterested youths in the background, and a heap of rubbish (left uncollected because of the bandh?!?)…oh, and half open shutter of the pharmacy too! state of the “republic”!
@ M I just got lucky with the symbolism in the first pic. It is indeed a very common sight during Bandas, so common that I was not a bit attracted to the young ppl walking or the medical store either..it was the gait of the man in the picture which caught my eye, like James said oblivious to everything, looks so confident as if he will make ‘Newa Rajya’ happen by his ‘long strides’ alone! Thanks to your eyes which saw so much in it ..the garbage lay there not because of the Banda but due to another ‘protest’ by Okharpauwa people….the streets were the same today i.e littered with garbage even though its a Nepal Khulla day…
@ James the legend isn’t forgotten and won’t be for innumerable reasons………..
